This program is designed to provide temporary home care for animals impounded at the Craig Animal Shelter. Foster care is an invaluable service to these animals. Circumstances where foster care is critical are: pets that have been housed in the shelter longer than one month; mothers and their young litters; injured or sick animals; and animals that are suffering emotionally and physically in the shelter environment. In addition, foster care provides the opportunity to evaluate the animal on an individual basis and assist in placing them in an appropriate forever home.
You must complete a Foster Care Program Questionnaire and meet the listed requirements. Please refer to the questionnaire for those requirements as well as answers to many frequently asked questions.
